Job Summary:

The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison dedicates itself to the mission of providing athletic opportunities to a wide range of students in an environment in which all student-athletes can achieve their academic and competitive goals.


The Division strives to provide equitable opportunities for all student-athletes and fosters the principles of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play on the field of play.

The Division sponsors teams in 23 sports competing under the regulatory guidelines established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Big Ten Conference, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), and the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA).


Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Development, this position will work as a member of the Athletic Development Office team.

This professional will manage strategic initiatives to steward major gift donors and prospective donors for the University of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics.


Responsibilities include:

  • Effectively develop, implement, and evaluate all stewardship and engagement efforts, programs, and offerings.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the Athletic Development Office when working with Athletics staff, campus partners, donors, WFAA, The Varsity Collective, and the W-Club.
  • Manage unique and effective communication with major gift donors.
  • Manage signature donor engagement events including but not limited to Forever Badgers Endowment Donor Appreciation Luncheon, capital project groundbreaking/ dedications, Badger Desert Classic, VIP Reception with the Athletic Director, etc.
  • Manage the Badger Leadership Society program.
  • Provided leadership for and assistance to supplementary eventbased stewardship programming.
  • Manage home game premium seating used for donor stewardship.
  • Develop initiatives to improve upon and evolve stewardship programs.
  • Collaborate with WFAA on stewardship of major donors to UW-Madison.
  • Consistently report on stewardshipbased metrics.
  • Assist and collaborate with the Major Gifts team on all aspects of campaigns and special
initiatives.

  • Work in tandem with ticketing and premium seating to ensure all ticket/parking needs are filled
based on the donor levels and points system.

  • Maintain a standard inoffice working schedule while engaging in work appointments needed outside of the office space.
  • Work with legal documents and confidential donor information.
  • Promotes the importance of the studentathlete experience in all initiatives.
  • This position requires night and weekend work as well as some regional and national travel.

Responsibilities:

Assists in the planning, promotion and execution of development events, leads the creation and updating of informational materials, interacts with stakeholder groups to cultivate and maintain relationships, and leads reporting efforts on the effectiveness of development activities of the unit.


  • 30% Assists with the development of strategic planning initiatives and objectives, program budgets, and monitors activity to ensure adherence to established guidelines
  • 10% Collects, prepares, and analyzes donor information and event data and provides subsequent recommendations for improvement and enhancement
  • 10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for event and program activities, facilities, participants, and vendors adhering to established timelines and expectations
  • 25% Assists with the design, development, and delivery of marketing and communication materials and other event publications to promote development events and programs
  • 15% Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at meetings and activities to advocate for and promote the interests of the unit
  • 5% Provide general support for all fundraising initiatives including major gifts, annual giving, premium seating, and NIL
  • 5% Leads fundraisingfocused signature events sponsored by the Athletic Development Office
