Summary:
Under minimal supervision and according to established nursing procedures, provides health education to health screening participants in a variety of settings.
Health screenings performed may include blood pressure, blood sugar, total cholesterol, HDL, total cholesterol/HDL ratio, BMI, bone density and others.
Facilitates six-week workshops on self-management of chronic disease and diabetes using an evidence-based curriculum. Provides care to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.Education:
Required:
Associates degree in Nursing, Bachelors in Nursing preferred.
License:
State of Ohio Registered Nurse license required. BLS certification required.
Experience:
Minimum experience preferred: 2 years of nursing
Broad knowledge base about factors that influence the level of personal wellness in general along with cardiac disease, diabetes, and obesity in particular.
Hours:
Various work hours including days, evenings and weekends in community settings.
