    Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Okeechobee, Florida

    Location: Okeechobee, Florida

    Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Okeechobee, Florida for the school year. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development, ensuring they have the necessary skills to succeed academically and socially.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
    2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies to address students' speech and language goals.
    3. Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, using evidence-based practices and innovative techniques.
    4. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' overall academic and social-emotional growth.
    5. Attend and actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing expertise and insights to develop students' personalized educational plans.
    6. Offer consultation and support to classroom teachers and staff regarding strategies for facilitating communication and language development in the classroom setting.
    7. Monitor and document students' progress regularly, adjusting intervention plans as needed to maximize outcomes and promote success.
    8. Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
    9. Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation in compliance with legal and professional standards.
    10. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity, equity, and respect for all students and stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Florida state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
    • Previous experience working with school-aged children, particularly in a school or educational setting, is advantageous.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse populations.
    • Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and educational environments.
