Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse - Triage provides over the phone comprehensive care to a designated patient population, utilizing their evidence-based medical knowledge base, the Nursing Process, and clinical protocols to ensure appropriate service to patients.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Triages patient's healthcare needs and makes decisions regarding specific concerns and findings, following appropriate telephone triage protocols.
  • Updates and maintains the patient's medical record.
  • Interfaces with multidisciplinary team members to provide optimum care.
  • Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance and encourage collaborative staff and community relationships.
  • Monitors clinic schedule and patient care activities.

  • Contributes to the recruitment and retention of talented staff through positive rolemodeling, fostering peer relationships, and participating in precepting medical students and creating an environment for quality practice.
  • Assumes responsibility for their role in achieving/maintaining financial health of the organization by utilizing all resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Identifies and recommends service and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in continuing education and quality improvement activities.
  • Supports membership in professional activities.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the relevant Nurse Practice Acts, compliance, regulation, legislation, certification, and department policies.
  • Follows Patient Care Policies, the Family Medicine Center policies, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements in patient care.
  • Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

NOAH requires all new hires to have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine before their start date and be scheduled for their second dose.

New hires who choose to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine only need one dose to fulfill this requirement. Reasonable accommodations will be considered.


Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:


  • Demonstrated ability to delegate, problemsolve and make decisions regarding specific concerns.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to all age groups.
  • Must be able to make good professional decisions quickly despite stressful atmosphere.
  • Ability to handle stressful and constantly changing conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and reliably.
  • Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred.

Education and Experience:


Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited NLN/CCNE institution.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) State and/or compact state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred:


  • 5+ years of outpatient experience.

Other Requirements:


  • New Hires are required to pass preemployment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).
  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire.
