Are you a master of concrete? A skilled Concrete Finisher who takes pride in delivering quality work on every job? Look no further, as we have an exciting opportunity for you

As a Concrete Finisher, you will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete for various projects, from highway roads and commercial foundations to sidewalks and curbs. The size of the project and organization of the work will determine whether you spend all your time on one job or transfer from task to task as the project progresses to completion. But no matter the task at hand, you'll use your expert abilities to produce smooth and aesthetically pleasing finishes to meet the specified textures.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Positioning the concrete truck to facilitate pouring
  • Directing the discharge chute of the truck to the right area
  • Spreading concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with a rake or shovel
  • Leveling concrete to specified depth and workable consistency with handheld screed and floats
  • Producing soft toppings and bringing water to the surface to create a smooth finish
  • Smoothing and shaping surfaces of freshly poured concrete
  • Wetting and rubbing concrete with an abrasive stone to create the desired finish
  • Molding expansion joints and edges
  • Removing rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patching holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
  • Sprinkling colored stone chips, powdered steel, or coloring powder on concrete to produce the desired finish
  • Producing rough concrete surfaces with a broom
  • Mixing cement with a hoe or concretemixing machine
  • Directing subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms
  • Breaking up and repairing old concrete surfaces
  • Setting up Screed, Bidwell, and other equipment to specifications
  • Performing other duties as assigned

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in pouring concrete and finishing in multiple disciplines (roadways, large commercial flatwork, foundations and footings, walls, parking structures, etc.)
  • Be able to carry 70 lbs. or more
  • Hold a high school diploma/GED (preferred)
  • Be willing to do laborer work
  • Have flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends
  • Have reliable transportation to work
  • Work safely
