Position Highlights
The Support Assistant will assist the EHS-RISE Director and Program Coordinator with event scheduling and coordination for events including Blanket Ceremony, blessings, and guest speakers.
This position will also assist with program recruitment including identifying graduate students in STEM and send invitations to participate in the program.

- Schedule/coordinate cultural and communitybuilding activities for EHS-RISE participants either individually or in collaboration with the A Student's Journey, NACP, or UBRP programs including reserving meeting space, sending invitations, and managing RSVPs.
- Schedule and attend mentoring lunches for EHS-RISE students including sending invitations to students, reserving space, event set up and clean up, and coordinating refreshments.
- Schedule endofsummer student presentations including invitations and reserving space.
- Communicate with students regarding EHS-RISE activities and track these activities for reporting purposes utilizing excel or other tracking methods as requested by the granting agency.
- Coordinate summer conference travel for EHS-RISE Students.
- Provide assistance to EHS-RISE workshop coleaders as needed such as reserving meeting space, making copies, sending out invitations, and ordering refreshments for events.
- Produce and distribute EHS-RISE recruitment materials to students and campus contacts (predominantly during the academic year).
- Identify and recruit graduate students to serve as EHS-RISE summer weekly meeting coleaders by running reports and collecting recommendations from university staff. Send out invitations to eligible graduate students to participate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skills in program coordination.
- Ability to work with college students and provide student services.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific field.
- Experience working with Native college students.
- Ability and willingness to obtain HOV certification.
- Experience in research and in teaching/advising.
