***: Dishwasher responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates and utensils, loading washing machines and stacking washed items appropriately. Performs tasks to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of nutritious attractive meals and supplements to all residents according to physician's orders and in compliance with Federal, State and Company Requirements. Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment.


SPECIFIC EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL REQUIERMENTS:


  • A high school diploma with one to two years of experience in food handling, nutritional care, and hospitality service.
  • Dietary dishwasher should have a food handler's permit.
  • This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
  • Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.

  • Physical dexterity - able to prepare food, push carts, and carry trays, requiring physical dexterity and the ability to lift, pull, push, and bend as needed
  • Hygienic practices - able to handle food safely, dietary aides ensure that all sanitation procedures and rules for hygiene are followed, such as frequently washing their hands and keeping their appearance clean and tidy
  • Friendly demeanor - interacting with guests and patients, dietary aides have a personable and friendly demeanor, creating a positive experience and maintaining a healthy relationship with their patients

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:


  • Interacts with customers, families, visitors, facility subsidiary personnel;
  • Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Puts customer service first. Ensures that residents/patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights. Maintains resident/patient confidentiality;
  • Abides by established schedule to assigned facilities.
  • Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
  • Load and unload dishwashing machines
  • Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
  • Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
  • Set up workstations before meal prep begins
  • Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours 9. Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary
  • Check washing machines' operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
  • Remove garbage regularly
  • Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
  • Attends all meetings and in-services as required.
  • Reports problems and needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Promotes teamwork and cooperation with other staff.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
