As a
Program Manager I-KNN Projects, you will work independently, under the direction of the Kern National Network (KNN) Administrator to manage the activities of KNN Projects, part of the KNN Reimagination Grants program.

Manage KNN Projects engagements to achieve established goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating of project tasks.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the functions of the department with the creation of project vision and implementation plans by deploying project management techniques, effective communication, and group facilitation skills.
  • Manage project planning processes as it relates to KNN Projects for the department.
  • Maintain project timeline including tracking deadlines and requirements for program deliverables.
  • Develop and manage project budget, provide budget guidance and financial updates to KNN Project partners.
  • Work with program staff within the KNN Reimagination Grants area and across the KNN Program Office.
  • Schedule people and material resources, specifically: monthly meetings of KNN Project partners, quarterly convenings and additional partner Take a relational approach to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development of project materials including educational materials, marketing materials, websites, groups in the KNN Online Community, forms, and reports.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs, scope and requirements.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of program data; contribute to the reporting of program data and project progress.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to the program.
  • Create and oversee effective communication plans that address all aspects of the project and target appropriate audiences; independently answer inquiries about activities and procedures.
  • Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events.
  • Facilitate training for program participants as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental, regulatory and institutional policies.
  • Participate in the development of program resources through literature searches, contact with outside programs, and review of funding opportunities.
  • Participate on appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of the program and the profession or area of research.

  • Independently manage assigned projects, tasks and work groups; accurately complete project within budget and by the due date with high customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a strong background in project management and enforces project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Recognize issues and determine priority. Able to quickly isolate and independently resolve issues utilizing all available resources and proactively prevent issues from occurring again and to anticipate future issues.
  • Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form to customers and management and create comprehensive documentation for all phases of the project.
  • Handle stressful situations in a calm and patient manner. Must maintain a positive attitude in all situations.

Preferred Schedule:
Hybrid, 80% Virtual, 20% On-Site Milwaukee Campus;

Preferred Hours:
Mon-Friday 8:00 a.m.

5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis._

Minimum education:
Bachelor's Degree

Minimum experience: 5 years experience

Track record of project management experience.
