Answer telephones in a courteous and professional manner; identify your department and name.
Proceed to his/her assigned area promptly and without delay.
Comply with meal and post relief breaks as directed.
Keep the Desk Officer or supervisor informed of Hospital Police services rendered.
Report any unusual crime and safety hazards to the Patrol Supervisor or to the Central Dispatcher immediately.
Conduct safety patrols to include fire prevention, smoking violations, ward visitation restrictions and visitor's hours, roof and ground floor alarm inspections in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Enforce rules and regulations as required by uniformed hospital security personnel.
Investigate suspicious conditions and circumstances on assigned post.
Maintain a memo book and produce as requested by any uniformed Hospital Police supervisor, Director of Hospital Police, Assistant Director of Hospital Police or other competent authority.
Monitor portable radio and conduct tests to ensure radio system is operating correctly.
All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Minimum Qualifications:

A valid New York State Security Guard registration card issued by the Department of State; and
Satisfactory completion of a 16-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) course within 90 days of employment.
