Business Unit Sales Associate Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required; Marketing, Business Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 57 years' sales experience in the consumerpackaged goods industry
  • Experience calling on category manager levels for grocery retailers and wholesalers
  • Experience in managing sales agencies (broker) preferred
  • Must be able to travel to be physically present at events, stores, and business offices
  • Experience with Trade Promotion Tools (i.e. Blue Planner), Power BI, IRI/ACNielsen syndicated data a plus
  • Demonstrated use of data and strong analytical skills while selling
  • Strong presentation skills are required
  • Impeccable professional conduct and reliability and the ability to represent Pompeian's values and passion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak to large audiences both internally and externally
  • Excellent team player with strong organizational skills with the ability to meet sales goals
  • Ability to maintain positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers, brokers, management, peers, and subordinates
  • Results driven and selfmotivated
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills

Business Unit Sales Associate Responsibilities:


  • Interface with the National Account Manager to implement sales strategies and programs that will grow volume and market share
  • Sales area with focus on Regional and Independent customers, $12.0MM 2024 Sales Budget


  • Major Customers

  • UNFI MW, Albertsons Jewel, HyVee, Schnucks, Spartan Nash
  • Attend sales calls with broker customer managers and local brokers
  • Conduct regular retail store level checks and develop plans to implement changes needed
  • Achieve company sales plan for assigned customers/geographic area; execute strategies based on correlated data and analytic driven decisionmaking
  • Increase distribution and sales, grow market shares through effective trade marketing expenditures
  • Keep Pompeian Trade Promotion System (Blue Planner) up to date with pricing, forecast, and promotional data
  • Properly communicate Pompeian standards, objectives, and policies to customers and brokers
  • Directly represent the company to build partnering relationships with brokers and customers
  • Communicate competitive information to Pompeian in a timely manner
  • Assist in customer deductions/payments promotion reconciliation, and customer service issues for assigned customers
  • Interface with HQ marketing team for customer targeted programs
  • Present a professional, visible image of the company and promote the ideals and values of the Pompeian organization
  • Support Pompeian's environment and sustainability efforts and communicate initiatives with customers
  • Complete any other assigned tasks as needed
