Role Overview:

The INDOT Crawfordsville District is in search of Summer Seasonal Workers interested in joining our team.

This position will be part of the Facilities maintenance repair team and will be performing repair work, landscaping, and snow and ice removal activities at INDOT facilities in the Crawfordsville District including the district office complex, sub-district, & units.

Salary:

This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

Location:

This position is located in INDOT's Crawfordsville District.

A Day in the Life:

Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures.
Moves and loads supplies and materials, including usage of tire disposal machine.
Mowing at INDOT facilities throughout the Crawfordsville District.
Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, filling, and preventative maintenance inspections.
Performs miscellaneous labor tasks.
Assists in ensuring that the facilities and grounds are in a constant state of survey readiness from a maintenance perspective
Performs other duties as assigned

What You'll Need for Success:

High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Required to submit to and pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
Must be able to endure exposure to inclement weather.
Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Ability to rotate shifts, when necessary.

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
