Job Summary:
DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Management Analyst 2.

The Management Analyst 2 position will serve as a point of contact between internal and external contacts within the Office of Inspector General, Department of Economic Security, and other State agencies.

This position will review, validate, and process invoices for payments in the Arizona Procurement Portal (APP) and/or other systems.

The position may also recommend redesigned work-flow to improve process efficiency, decrease the department's risk of fraud, waste and abuse, develops and recommends changes to policies, procedures and methodologies, and participate in special cost benefits analyses, studies, reports, surveys, inquiries and evaluations as needed.


This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review, validate, and process invoices for payments in the Arizona Procurement Portal (APP) and/or other systems.
  • Assists OIG Administrators with the development and implementation of project action plans in order to meet the goals pertinent and projects, objectives and the documented associated in the metrics strategic and plan. indicators, Operationalize within the goals strategic and plan. objectives Conduct by periodic developing action project plan reviews
  • Collect data and conducts comprehensive research and analysis related to organizational efficiency and process workflow. Recommends redesigned workflow to improve process efficiency and decrease the department's risk.
  • Conducts complex and special studies for efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in work methods, and procedures. Identifies resources required to support varied levels of program operations. Reviews administrative audits and investigative reports to recommend appropriate changes or corrective action required. Produce periodic reports for OIG management.
  • Assists OIG Administrators with the development and implementation of project action plans in order to meet the goals and objectives documented in the strategic plan. Operationalize goals and objectives by developing pertinent projects, and the associated metrics and indicators, within the strategic plan. Conduct periodic action/ project plan reviews.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Qualitative and Quantitative methods for gathering data, assessing, and improving effectiveness
  • Strategic planning, financial management, policy analysis, program evaluation and resource allocation.
  • Methods and techniques of statistical research, analysis, and probability modeling
  • Principles of data collection, collation, analysis and dissemination
  • Applicable federal, state and local statutes and Administrative Code

Skills In:

  • Preparing clear, concise, and accurate oral and written reports
  • Identifying risk and developing methods of mitigation
  • Generating reports, maps, charts, graphs, and other visual aids.
  • Research and presentations
  • Performing statistical research and analysis

Ability to:

  • Perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Recommend feasible improvements that affect program efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop project plans that are mutually acceptable to program
  • Communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Integrate and interpret complex information
  • Establish effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Selective Preference(s):

  • One year of management analysis experience appropriate to the assignment; OR three years of experience appropriate to the assignment; A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment will substitute for one or two years of the required experience respectively
