Part-Time/All Year


Supervised By:

Leisure Center Director and Community Relation Manager


General Statement of Duties:

High public contact position that requires a polite, pleasant and informed demeanor at all times. Responsible for a variety of clerical duties. Insures that staff and participants are following Park District procedures. Monitors and troubleshoots programs and activities offered throughout the District.


Distinguishing Features:

Responsible for providing accurate information to the public, processing program registration, directing incoming switchboard calls to proper parties.

Essential skills include; accuracy, attention to detail, organization, timeliness, personable, accountable, strong computer skills and a willingness to learn and complete assignments.

Support the facility staff and oversee the facility.


Qualifications of Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Prefer an individual with an Associate's Degree. 21 years or older. Two years' experience in customer service experience and supervising. Must have strong computer skills. Must be able to make good decisions following Park District policy and procedures. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Bilingual a plus. Enthusiasm and passion for good work and continuous improvement.

The individual must have strong customer service and organizational skills along with the ability to interact with patrons and staff in a professional, courteous and helpful manner.

Must be able to work a variable schedule, during Park District business hours.


Essentials Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Arrives on time and ready to work, as scheduled
  • Communicates with public and program participants, answering questions, suggesting programs, responding to inquiries, and referring public to appropriate persons when necessary
  • Operates switchboard by answering incoming calls and transferring when necessary
  • Processes class registrations, payments, cancellations and transfers
  • Runs registration cash proof and journal reports and prepares daily deposits
  • Operates computer using word processing, registration software, and other programs
  • Maintains confidential information
  • Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing
  • Handles customer service related inquiries
  • Report any damages to facility and equipment to supervisor
  • Follow procedures for opening or closing the facility
  • Insures that work areas are maintained and organized professionally
  • Supervises attendant on duty
  • Assists other staff with special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Environmental Considerations:

Works primarily in a climate controlled environment.

Some assignments would require exposure to a wide range of weather and environmental conditions.


Safety:

Employee is responsible for complying and understanding the importance of safety issues and policies.

Report unsafe conditions and make safety recommendations.

Work to achieve goals and objectives of the Safety Committee.
