Abilities First is in search of a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to provide healthcare support within our Residential Services Program.
About the Role
The Residential LPN will deliver personalized nursing care under the supervision of the RNs, assisting with
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise participants' medical needs to ensure all requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including monitoring MARs, Bowel Charts, Blood Sugar Flow Sheets, and Weight Records.
- Prepare nurse's notes as necessary.
- Manage medication storage and disposal, and monitor medication expiration dates.
- Administer medications and attend medical appointments as needed.
- Collaborate with community resources and provide health maintenance guidance.
- Assist in policy development and implementation.
- Conduct medication reviews and assessments under RN guidance.
- Uphold legal and ethical standards in all duties.
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse certification by the NYS Department of Education.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities in English.
- Physical capabilities to carry out essential job functions.
