Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the Purchasing function. Additional responsibilities include overseeing and analyzing the development of Material Management, Freight Contract Management, Centers of Excellence (COE) Development and key vendor relationships to include visiting Curbell branch locations, suppliers, participating in IAPD and other vendor events. In addition, this position is responsible for leading our recycling efforts in collaboration with Sales, EH&S and Operations.

Essential Functions:

• Develop a culture of high performance and employee engagement by inspiring, developing, and motivating internal talent. Facilitate good discussions with employees in order to understand their professional goals and aspirations. Create an environment of open communication that fosters upward feedback and suggestions. Make well informed decisions, demonstrate initiative, exhibit autonomy and execute on organization initiatives.
• Develop and implement a strategic material business plan. Research, develop and implement strategic product sourcing options. Manage FICO, SIS costs to ensure a sustainable cost position on key inventory items. Establish systems and processes and procedures for overall procurement execution in material requirement planning and procurement execution in material requirement planning and procurement.
• Play a key role om the overall business growth, on-time delivery, production planning price support, vendor selection, COE planning, inventory level strategies process improvement and standardization.
• Work jointly with Regional Directors, Marketing, Operations, and Business Development on bringing a consistent message to the field related to strategic direction. Assist with the implementation of marketing programs, market strategies, company initiatives and expansion efforts by the organization. (Examples include: Acquisitions, Green field expansion, new product offerings). In addition lead efforts to develop, maintain a recycling program that supports our sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning with linkage to financial and sales planning within the business. Manage and maintain Material Master in SAP.
