We are growing our Supply Chain team and have created a new Material Planning and Procurement Manager position.

You will collaborate with all of our domestic manufacturing plants, overseeing material planning, procurement, and inventory management of purchased items to ensure efficient operations and optimal inventory levels.

You will also lead a team of Buyers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support our growing business needs.


Core Contributions:


  • Strategic Material Planning: Develop and implement material planning strategies to support production schedules and customer demand forecasts.
  • Procurement Management: Ensure timely and costeffective procurement of materials by managing the purchased material planning and inventory process.
  • Inventory Optimization: Optimize inventory levels, including raw materials, components, and MRO materials, to minimize stockouts, reduce excess inventory, and improve cash flow.
  • Warehouse Collaboration: Ensure warehouse locations are adequately stocked and collaborate with operations planning manager to meet sales objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Material Planners and Buyers to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Functional Collaboration:

Work with business unit leaders, Production, Product, Lab, Logistics, Sales, and Finance teams to align material planning and inventory management activities.

Gather relevant data and use various material planning and forecasting methods to develop, support, and source material.

Driven Insights:

Utilize advanced data analytics and reporting tools to generate comprehensive reports for Supply, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.


  • Key Performance Indicators: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and continuous optimization. Will focus on metrics such as supplier on time delivery, past due purchase orders, order confirmation rate, inventory turnover, fill rate, and stock accuracy.
  • Inventory Control: Develop and implement inventory control policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost reduction initiatives within the material planning and procurement teams.
  • Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal and external partners to ensure reliable and sustainable supply chains.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies related to material planning and inventory management to drive innovation and best practices.
  • Approximately 15% domestic travel needed.

Essential Experiences:


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in material planning, procurement, and inventory management roles, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, including managing, and developing a team of direct reports
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make datadriven decisions
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and operational efficiencies
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems (Epicor is a plus), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or relevant professional certifications is a plus
