- Performs and directs nursing procedures and prescribed treatments, based on knowledge of principles and practice of Registered Nurse
- In accordance with hospital policy, may insert I.V.s, and administer I.V. medications
- Observes and records patient reactions to medication, I.V. therapy, and Chemo treatment
- Evaluates patient's signs and symptoms; records and reports results, sets priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good judgment
- Collaborates with physician regarding patient progress towards the desired outcome, assists physician during treatment and examination of patient and processes orders, makes appropriate and timely notification to physician on patient condition changes
- Receives and transcribes/checks physician's orders in a timely manner
- Provides and documents patient and family education as needed
- Maintains a current, written plan of nursing care or critical pathways for assigned patients
- Communicates clinical outcomes with patient and family
- Actively participates in the orientation of new personnel
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred with current Indiana State Board of Nursing as a Registered Professional Nurse or active Compact State RN license.
- Have a basic knowledge of JCAHO, CMS and ISBH standards, rules and regulations.
- Have a basic knowledge of performance improvements concepts and unit activities.
- Certification: BLS and RN must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
- Oncology Certification preferred

Services include the region's only Level-II trauma center, cardiovascular servicesincluding open-heart surgery and cardiac catheterization; oncology services, which include radiation therapy and outpatient infusion; labor and delivery, including a neonatal intensive care unit; an inpatient behavioral health unit; and other specialized inpatient areas, including intensive care and inpatient rehabilitation units.
