    CFO/ General Manager (construction)

    Texas City, TX

    Salary:
    negotiable, depending on experience + benefits

    and has no plans to stop there?


    Opportunity:
    Working for this successful roofing, insulation, and waterproofing contractor, you will basically be the CEO's right-hand person. They are seeking to appoint this new position due to year-on-year growth, and ongoing expansion plans.

    Your role will be twofold:
    Financial responsibility for the group of companies, currently covering 7 locations (and growing)

    ·

    Day-to-day financial operations, planning and strategic recommendations.

    ·

    Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.

    ·

    Keep up to date with all state and federal legislations.

    Managerial

    ·

    Responsibility for investments, insurance, budgeting, HR and financial reporting

    ·

    Provide leadership and guidance to accounting, clerical and HR teams.

    ·

    Evaluate the current company structure, making recommendations for improvements.

    Please be aware that


    you will be based in a rather small office that requires everyone to wear several different hats at times, so an understanding of bookkeeping, payroll data entry, etc, the time required for this, and the timing of those critical activities is also essential.

    The work must get done no matter who does it.


    You:
    ·

    You have a strong financial background, combined with strategic thinking and leadership skills.

    ·

    People management skills.

    ·

    You don't need to have previous experience in the roofing sector.

    However, you will need a construction background – you will need to know how projects work; what the processes and procedures are; what needs done on a regular basis.

    ·

    Experience using QuickBooks and preferably Alliance Payroll.

    ·

    Excellent communication skills.

    There is a lot of change coming in the company and you will need to explain things in an understandable manner.

    Above all, you will need empathy.

    This company likes to look after their staff so, as you will be very influential position, you will need to appreciate this and lead the way in a caring manner.
