The Joseph Nee South Boston Collaborative Center is a community-based Non-Profit with a mission to create a safe and welcoming environment providing substance use and mental health counseling services in an outpatient setting serving the Greater Boston Community.

The Joseph Nee South Boston Collaborative Center goal is to improve and enhance the quality of life for those we serve regardless of social status or ability to pay.


The Executive Director is the lead executive of the Center who works with other senior staff to accomplish the Center's mission.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the strategic planning and operational functioning of our Center and staff.

The Executive Director will have knowledge and understanding of current trends in the field of substance use and mental health treatment, have experience in developing and implementing a successful fundraising plan, and experience interacting with State and City elected leaders.

In addition, the Executive Director will have experience managing grant-funded programming. Experience in hiring and managing staff, maintaining working relationships with community and Non-Profit partners is an essential.

Above all, the Executive Director should be an effective leader with clear communication skills and with a capacity to foster a supportive and positive organizational environment.


Objectives of this role:


  • Work closely with board directors and committees to assess and address issues affecting the organization.
  • Oversee daily operations of the organization, with the Associate Director, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Identify and address staffing requirements for efficient operations and maintain a strong work culture that attracts and retains people while focusing on the organization's mission.
  • Create a work environment which supports professional development and growth for staff.
  • Increase and promote awareness of the organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media.
  • Develop with the Board of Directors an actionable plan for fundraising.
  • Oversee and support development of financial documents for required audits and Board oversite.
  • Ensure the Center complies with all National, State and City regulatory authorities for Clinic licensure.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop business plans for achieving goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors.
  • Meet annual fundraising goals, in partnership with Board of Directors, through support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and legislative funding sources.
  • Work with staff and board on annual fundraising benefit and additional events, and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media.
  • Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs.
  • Build and lead an effective team that's dedicated to fulfilling the organization's mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, and fundraising.
  • Provide management oversite for staff members and clients whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the community served by the organization.

Required skills and qualifications:


  • Master or Doctoral degree in psychology, Social Work.
  • Five or more years of experience in management with nonprofit organizations providing mental health/substance use treatment.
  • Strong experience in public relations, marketing, and fundraising.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations.
  • Proven success working with a Board of Directors.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to Non-Profit planning.
  • Dynamic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization.

Preferred skills and qualifications:


  • Experience with managing budgets.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.

Pay:
$105, $125,000.00 per year
