High School Ela Teacher - Washington, United States - E.L. Haynes Public Charter School
Description
This 10-month, full-time role will report to the Principal and will receive ongoing support through professional development opportunities and coaching from a member of their campus Instructional Leadership Team.
Starting salary:
$65,000 - $110,500
You Will:
- Plan and deliver exceptional instruction based on E. L. Haynes' rigorous academic standards, curriculum framework, graduate profile, and student assessment data;
- Conduct and analyze ongoing assessments of student performance;
- Work together with other teachers and specialists through our inclusive program to reach all students, including Special Education and ELL students;
- Create a positive and supportive classroom culture and environment that puts relationships with students first;
- Engage families and caregivers in their students' success;
- Lead a morning meeting to build community and for social, emotional, and academic support;
- Be an active member of the school community, attending and participating in school events outside of regular school hours, and completing other duties as assigned; and
- Own your learning through participation in ongoing instructional feedback cycles and individual and team professional development.
You Have:
- A bachelor's degree;
- Two or more years of experience working in culturally, demographically, and socially diverse educational settings;
- A clear understanding of English Language Arts standardsbased curriculum and standardsbased assessment;
- Experience in datadriven instruction;
- An ability to build a positive and supportive classroom culture;
- Strong collaboration skills in order to ensure student success; and
- Full COVID19 vaccination.
You Might Also Have:
- A Washington, DC teaching certification;
- A strong background in differentiated and individualized instruction;
- Experience in handson learning such as experiential learning or projectbased learning;
- Verbal or written proficiency in Spanish; and
Pay:
$65, $110,500.00 per year
