Summary:

Production workers are responsible for mass production of a specific product in a manufacturing or production facility. A production worker's duties may vary from operating machinery, assembling materials or equipment, carrying out inspections and quality control.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Prepares, assemble and fabricate materials for production
  • Operate equipment to process materials
  • Performs various manual labor functions
  • Promptly report any problem relating to material damages or shortages to Department Lead
  • Prepare cardboard boxes
  • Pack items appropriately for distribution
  • Fulfill requirements to ship product safely through specific carriers
  • Review work orders and determine requirements to assemble
  • Lifting hinge components onto workstation and physically assembling
  • Quality inspection of completed hinges
  • Maintain acceptable standards of 5S
  • Examining incoming and outgoing shipment contents and comparing with records, (such as manifests, invoices or orders) to verify accuracy
  • Preparing documents, such as work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials
  • Determining shipping methods for materials using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
  • Recording shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability and damages and discrepancies for purposes of reporting, accounting and record keeping
  • Contacting carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for the shipping and delivery of materials
  • Conferring and corresponding with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages and nonconformance to specifications
  • Pulling orders from warehouse racks using a log and possibly an RF scanner gun
  • Staging and palletizing product in warehouse
  • Performing light Quality Control to ensure that products are going to the correct areas
  • Performing general cleanup and maintenance of your work area
  • Receive incoming materials, product and supplies and verify accuracy to packing list
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery to place product into designated areas
  • Delivery of packages to personnel
  • Stock and pull raw materials for production and customer orders as directed by Department Supervisor
  • Consistently work in a safe manner and adhere to all safety guidelines

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Prior experience in a production setting preferred
  • Familiar with production equipment and machinery
  • Sharp attention to detail in favor of identifying defects
  • Selfdriven and hard worker
  • Able to work efficiently with mínimal supervision
  • Flexible to work shifts, overtime and weekends as required
  • Able to stand for long hours at a time
  • Lifting/moving product and supplies up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, twisting, and reaching
  • Read, understand, and communicate effectively
  • Regular use of hands to handle or feel and reach
  • Stand/walk frequently
