Qualifications:


  • Master's degree
  • Three (3) years of principal or higher experience
  • Holds Florida Certification in:
  • Educational Leadership or
  • Administration and Supervision or
  • Florida certification as a School Principal
  • School leadership experience at multiple levels *Preferred
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.

Performance Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership, direction, support, and accountability to principals to ensure that instructional and curricular programs are fully and appropriately implemented and evaluated.
  • Advise principals based on school performance, academic growth, and operations management.
  • Instruct principals in analyzing school achievement data and discuss implications for curriculum and instructional needs.
  • Instruct principals in evaluating classroom implementation of state content standards and curriculum frameworks.
  • Monitor the quality of district instructional programs.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring site educational plans.
  • Provide professional and leadership development to principals and leadership teams.
  • Facilitate the principal selection process by screening and interviewing selected applicants.
  • Analyze and interpret a variety of state and local data to determine needs of schools, personnel, and students for the purposes of program improvement and action planning.
  • Collaborate with principals and teacher to identify expertise and support services necessary for professional learning to meet their identified needs.
  • Coaches and mentors new school leaders.
  • Assists school leaders with the implementation of the District Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan.
  • Provides school leaders with access to district and state resources for instructional improvement.
  • Assists with all aspects of the district's leadership development plan and the school leaders' performance evaluation system with emphasis on Preparing New Principals and Aspiring Leaders Programs.
  • Performs other jobrelated functions as assigned.
