Audio Visual Technician to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Training Coordination and Support Unit (TCSU).

This role will provide audio visual support during graduations and Training Division special events.

Successful performance in this role will support the Training Division's mission to provide training professional development and defensive systems to the FBI workforce, our national security, and law enforcement partners.

Responsibilities:


  • Support and troubleshoot a wide array of AV equipment/services including: video teleconferencing, projection systems and flat panel displays, audio systems, wireless microphone systems, camera operation and video recording, lighting, control systems, conference telephones, and collaborative technology such as SMART Boards and touch screen interfaces.
  • Participate in AV system installations, including onsite vendor coordination, system testing and quality control.
  • Establish and maintain accurate AV equipment inventory and service maintenance logs.
  • Document and keep current administrative and design manuals for the implementation and maintenance of the A/V network.
  • Liaison with audio conference and videoconference bridge providers, video duplication, A/V equipment vendors and any other vendors related to A/V needs.
  • Setup of A/V needs in support of conferences, or special events.
  • Stay abreast of AV technologies and evaluates appropriateness of technology solutions.
  • Provide quality customer service to all staff and clients.
  • Videotape a variety of activities including, but not limited to, Academy graduations, classroom activities, and training exercises utilizing state of the art high definition cameras and other equipment.
  • Perform complex audio and video editing of taped events using the Avid Xpress Pro Linear/ Pinnacle video editing software, including digitizing input of source footage and graphic files, assembling and editing sequences, creating titles, effects, color correction and output of the content to a variety of media.
  • Direct customer presentations and/or programs in the FBI Academy facilities that are typically unrehearsed live events, cuing in music, sound, support visuals and video/film excerpts; and adjusting timing to meet program requirements of the presentations.
  • Train instructors to operate the equipment in the classrooms and conference rooms to include Crestron touch panels, overhead projectors, microphones etc.
  • Install technical equipment in the main auditorium, forum, lyceum and multiple projection facilities including over 35 classrooms equipped with state of the art multimedia capabilities including internet and Ethernet.
  • Transfer mini DVD to VHS version and copy DVD to DVD, and also VHS to DVD, Instructors, national academy students and inservice students also ask for CD's to be burned and photos scanned. Support interview training by monitoring the cameras during interview sections, recording the interview and arranging playback for students and counselors.
  • Operate the technical engineering and audio mixers. Serve as the coordinating stage manager during all graduation presentations and special ceremonies. Supports, plans and directs technical and audiovisual support for live presentations and special events in the National Capitol Region for major conferences supported by the FBI.
  • Provide technical services, logístical planning and support in all technical areas of training to include audio, video, computers and electronics to Division 2 and all FBI components located at the FBI Academy.

Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • 3 years related experience in providing audio visual technical support in an education environment or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must have the ability to sit, stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Computer and MS Office Suite proficient.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills with an emphasis on communicating detailed analysis and recommendations to customers.
