This is a Full-Time (37.5 hours), Non-Exempt Position

Under the supervision of Children's Home Society of California's (CHS) Program Manager, the Program Associate will:

  • Support Management staff in carrying out the activities of the Resource and Referral Program (R&R)
  • In collaboration with Management staff, review reports and relevant documents
  • Monitor quality assurance and ensure contract compliance
  • Provide Trauma Informed Care Trainings to Child Care Providers
  • Provide Coaching Sessions to Bridge Child Care Providers
  • Provide technical assistance and resources to families and child care providers
  • Mentor and train Bridge Program Specialists in the delivery of services to the Child Care Providers
  • Assist with developing and administering staff training for new staff and ongoing refresher trainings
  • Attend meetings and trainings hosted by the Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles and Drew Child Development Corporation
  • Represent CHS at designated community outreach events to inform professionals, providers, and families about services
  • Maintain all records in a highquality manner and within record protection, retention, and destruction guidelines
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations
  • Work some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to support programming for client services
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Human Services or Child Development field OR Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of experience required
  • Prior nonprofit experience preferred
  • Experience with child development and/or early childhood education preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to assess training needs, research, and develop high
quality trainings for a variety of audiences

  • Selfmotivator with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a flexible and positive attitude
  • Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 5 desired
  • Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 22 desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervision abilities required
  • Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error free work
  • Proactive professional with a strong work ethic and an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shift quickly between assignments with a flexible and positive attitude while meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to establish a rapport with parents, providers, and community organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Commitment to CHS's core mission and values, and an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and transparently with all levels of staff
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Automobile, valid driver's license, good driving record, and automobile insurance, this requirement may be waived for some positions if another form of reliable transportation is available
  • Ability to travel via air and surface transportation, including travel between multiple offices

SALARY SCALE:
Entry level pay for this position is $29.00 per hour; the full pay scale is $29.00 to $33.92. Advancement on pay scale is based on qualifications, such as experience and education, and eventual job performance.
