Description

High-Rise Condominium in Jersey City, is looking for a Porter to join our team. We are

hiring immediately and seeking a dedicated and efficient Porter for our building.

Over 18 years old.

Must speak English/Spanish

Reporting to Superintendent

Job description:

Assists in keeping the lobby and other common areas clean and tidy

Assists in keeping the public bathrooms, party room and common areas clean

Sweeps and mops floors and vacuum carpets.

Ensures building entrance is free of clutter at all times.

Ensures facility is safe, clean, and inviting.

Removes trash and recycling.

Keeps trash compactor room clean and tidy at all times.

Monitors and cleans and service washrooms.

Washes windows, walls, and glass.

Responds to any major spills or other cleaning crises.

Removes litter and rubbish from main common rooms.

Must know how to use a trash compactor

Helps residents and staff to set up rooms for events.

Performs snow removal during the winter season

Ensures all perimeters and walkways are clean and clear of debris.

Ensures the safety of guests by placing and removing signage that indicates wet floors

or paint.

Direct guests to the reception area or the appropriate office/room

Complies with health and safety regulations.

Follows evacuation rules in case of emergencies.

Reports to work as scheduled.

Follows appropriate dress code.

Informs Superintendent of what cleaning supplies are needed.

Reports any repairs needed within the property

Skills and Qualities required:

Must be able to work on unsupervised.

Must be extremely dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and a good communicator.

Ability to develop and maintain a regular schedule of custodial tasks on a daily, weekly,

and monthly basis.

Ability to work alone or in teams, in all weather conditions.

Ability to lift and/or move over 40 pounds.

Must be familiar with using trash compactor.

Benefits:

Hourly wage $20

Union 32BJ (after probation period)
