Position Summary


Reporting to the PMA Project Manager, the
Clerk of the Works role is responsible for on-site observations and daily reporting on progress, as well as monitoring and coordinating onsite testing, inspection, and commissioning services during the construction phase of the project.

The position requires communication and collaboration with the Owner/Architect/OPM team to ensure project integrity and a high-quality work product that consistently meets or exceeds the project's contract documents, including the drawings and specifications.

The position also requires maintaining accurate records kept at the OPM's on-site field office, including but not limited to written and electronic correspondence, contract documents, requests of information, change orders, change directives, certified payrolls, monthly reports, shop drawings, project data, and samples.


Position Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of field construction project management typically acquired by a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field and 5+ years' experience providing Clerk of the Works/On-Site Representative project support, or 15+ years of field experience on construction projects valued in excess of $50M.
  • Specific knowledge of bus maintenance facilities, Battery Electric Buses (BEB's) charging equipment (pantographs, chargers, plugin dispensers, etc), change management software (CMS), earthwork, and site utility work is preferred.
  • Demonstrated abilities in communication (both verbal and written), multitasking with a high degree of accuracy, and judgment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of ProCore, Prolog, Timberline, ProjectWise, or other collaboration software is a plus.
  • Direct construction trade experience or knowledge is beneficial.
  • Prior municipal/public works project experience is also a plus.
  • Demonstrated record of timely job performance in support of normally expected construction work hours during the work week, and support of occasional Saturday work.

Additional Requirements

Physical:

Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.


Cognitive:

Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
