Job Summary and Qualifications:

The Wound Care (WC) Nurse, under general supervision, coordinates the clinical functions of the Wound Care Center. Working autonomously, the WC Nurse is responsible for evaluating/assessing, developing, organizing, and planning care programs. They also are responsible for ensuring efficient operations and directing the daily functions of the center.

The WC Nurse collaborates with physicians, other nurses, and other appropriate hospital staff and directs the care of the patient's wounds.

The WC Nurse ensures adherence to the standard of care and best practices.

While overseeing the delivery of patient care, the WC Nurse will adhere to clinical policies and procedures of the department.


  • You must have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced wound care modalities, including but not limited to negative pressure wound therapy, skin substitutes, maggot therapy, therapeutic.
  • You must be able to effectively manage and direct other staff such as certified nursing assistant, coordinator, licensed practicing nurse, technicians, etc.
  • You will need to work in an efficient and organized manner as to care for several patients at once while ensuring provider orders are carried out and passed on to other coordinating healthcare providers including but not limited to home health, infusion center, follow up referral visits, etc.
  • You will need to be able to coordinate transitioning the inpatient wound care to the outpatient status, which includes working with case management, primary care physicians, staff nursing, etc.
  • You must be able to accurately and completely document on all patients by end of business day, this includes encouraging and ensuring provider documentation is complete...

What qualifications you will need:


  • Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Current licensure in California as a Registered Nurse.
  • BCLS Certification required
  • Wound Care experience preferred
