Description

The Community Cultivator provides internal and external support for programming that uplifts WNDR's commitment to fostering cultural curiosity through partnerships and community engagement initiatives.

The Community Cultivator works collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including staff, local business owners, organizations, and other community members to ensure that community engagement programming meets predetermined goals and criteria that support the mission of WNDR.

The Community Cultivator serves as the primary interface with community partners, building strong relationships throughout our communities.

Community Activation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between WNDR and community partners.
  • Offer suggestions for strategic partnerships that align with WNDR's mission and engagement priorities.
  • Connect with potential community partners to develop longterm relationships.
  • Support WNDR's hiring efforts by identifying partnerships for diverse recruitment and local sourcing in collaboration with People Operations.
  • Build and create a diverse database of community partners, collaborators and experiences ensuring the WNDR programming calendar captures the current cultural zeitgeist.
Programs

  • Coordinate impactdriven content development for special events and programs.
  • Ensure innovative events and programming are united around our global themes.
  • Maintain knowledge of local events, special programs, and projects and communicate them to employees.
  • Propose trends, technology, and leading innovations for new event formats and collaborate with the team on themes and installations for big events.
  • Compose compelling copy for programs.
  • Adhere to deadlines and budgets to ensure that business goals are met.
Desirable Qualifications

  • 2+ years of cultural event programming or cultural event production experience
  • A longterm resident of Chicago with an extensive local network
  • A strong knowledge and connection to the Chicago area
  • Creatively driven and culturally intune to develop / foster a network and knowledge to execute events
  • Collaborative and communicative accepting direction and delegation as required
  • Strong computer literacy and are proficient in Google Suite
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Agile and adaptable based on the needs of a dynamic work environment and collaboration with a diverse fastpaced team
  • Prior work experience in a retail, museum, park, recreation facility, or hospitality a plus
