Laboratory Technician - Tustin, United States - CA Laboratory

We are seeking a laboratory technician in our Laboratory in Tustin, to join our growing team and opportunity to grow within.

This will be a support role to the laboratory and the technician will assist with the preparation of samples for asbestos, under supervision of senior laboratory staff, this individual will sample preparation, quality control laboratory procedures, microscopic analysis of asbestos air and bulk samples, and participate in our laboratory's Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of Polarized Light Microscopy.
• Preparation of environmental samples prior to analysis for Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep and any areas of prep related to client work
• Cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment
• Good lab practice
• Organization of supplies
• Other laboratory QC and clerical duties may be assigned by lab manager as needed.

Requirements:

• A high school degree/equivalent or Associates Degree in Life Science or 2 years of college course work completed, B.S. in Science, or Technology a Plus
• Must be able to work independently and with a team
• Must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments

• Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills.
