Position Summary:


The Respite Coordinator Assistant supports the Senior Respite Director and the respite team in the delivery, implementation, and support of the various respite programs.

Specifically, the Respite Coordinator Assistant will have responsibilities as it relates to the Community Center-Based Respite Program and assisting with the Navy Exceptional Family Member (EFM) Respite Program.

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility throughout the month. The hours can fluctuate based on the week and when Community Center-Base Respite is planned. Hours worked and priorities differ according to weeks of the month. Specifically, 15 hours a week, towards Navy program, and eight hours once a month on Saturday (typically the second Saturday of the month for Community Center

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Navy Exceptional Family Members (EFM)

Program_:

_

  • Assist with the administrative duties to meet grant requirements
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of Respite Care Providers
  • Conduct annual checkins and required updates as it relates to the families and Respite Care Providers
  • Conduct site visits in the DC/MD/VA area (daytime, evening, and weekend hours are required
- as needed) and generate reports

  • Maintain accurate Excel documents for reporting purposes and submit to Senior Respite Director

Community Center-Based Respite:_

  • Assist with planning and facilitation of each Saturday Center-Based Respite event (one Saturday a month)
  • Ensure effective communication and completion and submittal of all required paperwork for volunteers and participants
  • Assist with maintaining excel documents that include multiple aspects of the program (i.e. participants, volunteers, monthly participation, matches, etc.)
  • Perform other operational and administrative duties

Required Skills and Abilities:_

  • A car is needed for required local travel (mileage reimbursed)
  • Able to work weekdays, some evenings, and for weekend site visits as needed
  • Attend Community Center-Based Respite one Saturday per month
  • Superb time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multitask and demonstrate flexibility to pivot duties as needed regularly
  • Ability to work independently and also in a significantly close team setting where collaboration occurs often
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Can maintain composure at all times during stressful situations
  • Maintain high degree of confidentiality in all settings
  • Proficient with computers and programs (Outlook, Microsoft products, etc.)

Required Education and Experience:_

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferred Bachelor of Arts/Science in Special Education or Early Childhood Education
