Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and provide value in hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of staff
  • Ensuring the safe and positive operation of the business
  • Creating and adjusting staff schedule based on business needs
  • Manage performance of direct reports (Assistant Managers & Team Leads) and provide coaching for development and improvement/alignment
  • Ensure efficient building operations including cleanliness, water quality, and pump room operations
  • Direct staff in daily monitoring and review of student progress, checkbox completion, and appropriate moveups
  • Oversight of regular and effective parent/customer communication to ensure positive interactions and appropriate status updates. Our customers are our focus and our employees present the opportunities to engage and impress.
  • Ensure teachers and staff are adhering to Big Blue Swim School principles, standards, and curriculum
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend incentive adjustments in accordance with budget
  • Manage compliance with safety procedures and required certifications
  • Monitor and request inventory and supplies as needed
  • Direct front desk activities and customer interactions
  • Plan and communicate event schedule including trainings and employee events
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 710 years previous management experience
  • Will train to receive Lifeguard, CPR, CPO certifications
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Must possess the ability to communicate and respond to student and customer interactions
  • Ability to work in the pool as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to regularly move throughout the facility to continuously interact with customers and staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality and operations management or other related disciplines
  • 10+ years of experience in a customerfacing organization, successfully managing a staff of 15+ PT and FT employees
  • Track record of servant leadership through empathy, providing results and building towards a positive and collaborative culture
  • Dedicated to celebrating and embracing employee individuality, allowing employees to feel safe and equal, across all levels of the organization
  • Impeccable attention to detail and experience managing a small business P&L
