PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assist the Campus Counselor with the administration of all state-mandated and local assessment programs in a timely manner including providing assistance after the training of campus testing personnel as well as preparing testing materials (Benchmark STAAR, MAP, and any/all additional campus assessments)


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:


Associate degree with a minimum of 60 earned hours or two years of study (60 earned hours) at an institute of higher learning.


Special Knowledge/Skills:


  • Ability to fluently read, write, and speak in English
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district personnel
  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and word processing
  • Proficient keyboarding, file maintenance, multitasking skills
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Detailoriented, selfmotivated, and able to multitask
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Under the supervision of the District Testing Coordinator and Campus Counselor]

  • Assist the Campus Counselor with the administration of all state mandated and local assessment programs in a timely manner.
  • Participate in planning and evaluation of campus testing program.
  • Monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and assists Campus Counselor with appropriate interventions.
  • Participating in the planning and coordination of all levels of standardized testing which includes, but is not limited to, attending all required campus training for standardized assessments, accommodations, supplemental aids, and other supports, and ensuring testing security and confidentiality.
  • Responsible for the organization, implementation, verification, collection, and distribution of materials for all assessments.
  • Adhere to testing procedures and deadlines set by the Campus Director and District Testing Coordinator.
  • Attend all assessment trainings as directed by the Campus Director and District Testing Coordinator.
  • Maintain databases and files as assigned by the Campus Director and District Testing Coordinator.
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in department/staff meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Equipment Used:

Computer with appropriate software, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, audiovisual equipment.


Mental Demands:

Ability to communicate effectively (listening, verbally, and in writing English and Spanish; Spanish translations in reading and writing; ability to attend to detail; maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruption.

ABOUT BOB HOPE SCHOOL
Bob Hope School is a growing open-enrollment public charter school (non-profit) providing parents a choice in their child's education. Bob Hope Elementary is a Montessori / Dual-Language campus.

Instruction is conducted in a two-way immersion program, where teachers fluent in English teach ELA and those fluent in Spanish teach SLA and are supported by teacher aides with a strong command of both languages.

Campuses are located in Port Arthur, Beaumont, and Baytown, Texas. The Hughen Center, Inc. is the charter holder of Bob Hope School.
