    Minimum Position Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a relevant area and a minimum of two (2) years of collegiate or professional level public relations experience.

    Special Conditions
    The department is especially interested in candidates who have strong knowledge or understanding of social media best practices.

    Possess media relations skills.
    Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
    Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
    Ability to utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
    Knowledge of sporting press box procedures, techniques, facilities, and equipment.
    Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with the departmental team as well as external stakeholders.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

    Ability to use independent judgment and to gather, manage and impart information to the media and various other internal and external audiences.

    Coordinate the communications strategies for the assigned Tigers athletic programs, and other athletic programs as needed.

    Work independently to develop concepts, design, and coordinate the printing or
    electronic distribution of a range of public relations collateral and graphics.

    Write and edit an array of print content including press releases, game previews, recaps,
    and other materials with many pieces produced on tight deadlines.

    Cultivate and maintain solid working relationships with local and national media.

    Coordinate game day communications operations including staffing for media relations,

    at home events as well as requests from broadcast television, talent, and production
    crews both at home and on the road.
