- Provide legal analysis and advice; prepare and file legal pleadings and documents; represent clients at disputed and undisputed hearings.
- Conduct legal research; analyze and interpret laws, statutes, regulations, and policies.
- Conduct discovery in preparation for trial, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to avoid court proceedings.
- Develop legal strategies and defenses for employers in workers' compensation cases.
- Maintain communication with clients, keeping them updated on case progress and legal developments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive and organized approach to case management
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Workers Comp Defense Attorney.
- Extensive knowledge of California Workers Comp laws and regulations.
- Proven experience handling workers comp defense claims.
- Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining high-quality work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
