- Conduct routine patient surveillance through data collection from various sources.
- Review patient records for clinical symptoms related to infection reports.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret infection control/prevention data.
- Plan, implement, manage, and evaluate infection prevention and control activities.
- Oversee Hand Hygiene compliance program.
- Serve as an Infectious disease Consultant for healthcare clinicians.
- Educate individuals and groups about infection prevention and control.
- Develop and revise infection prevention/control policies and procedures.
- Notify local, state, and federal authorities about reportable diseases.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school. BSN required, MSN preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience required.
- State of Illinois nursing license required.
- Certification in Infection Prevention/Control (CIC) preferred.
- Attendance in a course or workshop in Infection Control required.
- CPR certification required.
