    Cleveland ClinicAkron Generalis looking to adda Registered Nurse (RN) to their Medical/Surgical float pool.As a RegisteredNurse, youwill:


    •Provide directnursingcare.


    •Monitor anddocument patient's conditioneffectively.


    •Administerprescribed medications andtreatments.


    •Assess and coordinate patient's dischargeplanningneeds.


    •Maintainsprofessional growth anddevelopment.

    Responsibilities:

    • ASSESSMENTS:Completes ongoing assessments.
    • Recognizessignificant changes in patient condition and respondsappropriately.
    • PLANNING: Develops measurablegoals for identified problems.
    • Updates goalsfor identify problems.
    • Involves thepatient/family (or designee) in developing a plan of careindividualized to patient cultural, religious and educationalneeds.
    • Coordinates the interdisciplinary planof care.
    • Serves as a patientadvocate.
    • IMPLEMENTATION: Provides nursing carebased on patient-centered outcomes and standards of care that arebased on current research and evidence-basedpractice.
    • Safely administers patient care andtreatments in accordance with the Standards of Safe NursingPractice and institutional policy.
    • Safelyadministers medications in accordance with the Standards of SafeNursing Practice and institutionalpolicy
    • Documents legibly using concise terms,correct terminology and approvedabbreviations.
    • EVALUATION: Participates inon-going interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomesand contributes to the improvement ofcare.
    • Participates in the quality improvementprocesses.
    • LEADERSHIP/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:Delegates tasks/assignments to employees according to their abilityand within the scope of their job descriptions and according to theDelegation by Licensed Nurses, Ohio AdministrativeCode.
    • Serves as a resource person sharingknowledge/skills.

    Education:

    • Graduatefrom an accredited school of nursing. BSNpreferred.

    Certifications:

    • currentlylicensed as a registered nurse in the State ofOhio.
    • BLSrequired

    Complexity ofWork:

    • Maintains competenciesspecific to patient populationserved.


    WorkExperience:

    PhysicalRequirements:

    • Requires fullrange of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manualand finger dexterity, and eye-handcoordination.
    • Requires standing and walking forextended periods of time.
    • Requires correctedvision and hearing to normal range.
    • Requiresworking under stressful conditions and irregularhours.
    • Exposure to communicable diseases and/orbody fluids.
    • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of forceconstantly to move objects.
    • Physical Demandrequirements are in excess of those for LightWork.
