Batching Crew Leader - Penta Five


Salary:
Starting at $20.00/hour commensurate with experience


Position Description:


The Batching/Production Crew Leader is responsible for batching activities as required by production demand; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.

The Batching Crew Leader executes instructions from the Production Manager and/or Supervisor, to coordinate day-to-day activities including but not limited to: documentation, cleaning, sanitization, and all other processes required by the workflow involving routine, standardized procedures, in assigned shifts.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Precisely inspects, stages, weighs, and mixes ingredients according to the production recipes. Collaborates with Quality Assurance/Control technician on the analytical results and makes modifications or adjustments to the batches when needed.
  • Preweighs, blends, and liquifies components for beverage preparation.
  • Accurately documents lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas.
  • Performs cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and fillers (CIPs, foaming equipment, and hand brushing).
  • Performs and obeys all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and Safety Rules, as well as maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Follows all Company Quality policies, SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards and SOP's.
  • Supports the SQF System by empowering and encouraging production employees to do the right things and report events that could impact the food safety of the product.
  • Participates in the creation of a favorable mindset that supports a food safety culture.
  • Communicates food safety policies and responsibilities.
  • Participates in food safety training.
  • Includes food safety requirements in employee performance measurement.
  • Reports events that could impact the safety of our food products.
  • Familiarizes self with and adheres to SQF requirements for food safety.
  • Must be willing to learn all processes and machinery operation(s), CIP/COP, Safety
  • Practices, cleanliness standards, maintenance practices and be willing to be placed on any machine as needed.
  • Maintains proper documentation about Production records. Get information and fill record to keep traceability.
  • Prepares Company paperwork as assigned.
  • Addresses production issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in business, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in foodrelated manufacturing/production preferred.
  • Prior training in Food Safety, GMP's, GLP or HACCP.
  • Previous team/crew leader experience in a manufacturing/production setting.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently.
  • Experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP's).
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain strict customer and corporate confidentiality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Varied activities including sitting, standing (for extended periods of time), walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity to operate various types of office equipment including, but not limited to computers, copy machines, printers, etc.
  • Periodic need to lift, carry, push/pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Periodic need to move loads exceeding 50 pounds with the assistance of appropriate equipment (i.e., pallet jacks, carts, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Work is performed in a fastpaced, high volume, manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to tolerate a variety of environments both inside and outside in hot or cold temperatures and varying noise levels.
  • Must wear various personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly during the workday as needed.
  • Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
