Description
STV's Maryland Transportation Division is seeking a Transportation Engineering Specialist to join the team.

This position offers excellent potential for career advancement as this individual would assist staff and our other offices who have a direct impact on the improvement of our local and national infrastructure.


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the MDOT (SHA, MdTA, MTA and MPA), Baltimore City and other County/City agencies
  • Developing design plans including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, typical sections, superelevation data and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets
  • Designing to adhere to ADA Standards and bicycle guidelines
  • Coordinating design development and providing technical skills to the design team
  • Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages
  • Assisting with maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers
  • Attending project meetings with clients, subconsultants, and the project team

Required Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT or plans to take the F.E. preferred with goal of obtaining PE.
  • MDOT and municipal client experience is a plus
  • Ad desire to learn and support the design of progressive transportation systems
  • Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/Corridor modeling design software
  • OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Compensation Range:
$55, $74,254.00
