- Coordination and custodianship as related to nuclear material recovery project for highly valued isotopes from irradiated fuel elements.
- Interface with other groups within the facility, department, and site in support and coordination of nuclear material control and movements.
- Utilization of critical thinking skills, data analysis skills and a demonstrated ability to integrate these skills into effective organization, execution, and reporting.
- Ability to work with multi-discipline teams to solve problems will be crucial to the candidate and SRNL's success.
- Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering field with 0-3 years' experience in a laboratory setting
- MS in a Science or Engineering field with 0-2 years' experience in a laboratory setting.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Experience in nuclear materials management is a preferred qualification.
- Demonstrated hands-on work experience in a laboratory setting, attention to detail, ability to organize, and a willingness to perform to the rigor necessary in managing nuclear materials is preferred.

Job DescriptionSRNL's Environmental and Legacy Management Directorate is seeking a qualified candidate to contribute on interdisciplinary research and development teams in the areas of nuclear materials recovery and disposition, nuclear material control and accountability, nuclear material project coordination and custodianship, and hands-on project execution. About the Team
SRNL's Environmental & Legacy Management (ELM) Directorate closely collaborates with the Department of Energy (DOE) and site contractors to develop, mature, and apply science and technology needed to resolve environmental challenges and advance legacy management missions. As the lead laboratory for Environmental Management (DOE-EM) and Legacy Management (DOE-LM), SRNL applies our talent and expertise to develop and deploy innovative approaches and technologies to reduce risk, cost, and schedule of environmental cleanup and nuclear material processing. Additionally, ELM is using our competencies to develop new materials and processes for a range of clean energy applications.
