We are Looking for:
Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice.
The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Rooming the patient
- Interview/update patient's chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
- Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.
- Scribing
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient care is coordinated and effective.
- Accurately document patient encounters and medical history, including symptoms, diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans.
- Stay current on medical terminology, procedures, and coding, to ensure accurate and efficient documentation.
- Prepares patient charts a week in advance.
- Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.
- Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.
- Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.
- Ensures that physician is innetwork and authorized/uptodate referral is in the patient's chart.
- Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.
- Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.
- Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.
- Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.

- Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)
- Performs related duties as required.

Requirements:
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
- Two years+ of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Two years+ of experience as a Medical Scribing
- Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
