    Title: Technical Writer (Administration, Support)

    Location: Remote

    Reports to: Administration Line Lead for Support

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    We're on the lookout for a Technical Writer to aid in the digital health transformation endeavors within the Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) program management office.

    This role involves documenting complex information systems and daily software applications to boost user understanding and maximize efficiency throughout the Program.

    Collaborating with the Administration Line Lead, this position will focus on producing and co-writing materials like audit responses, executive presentations, acquisitions documents, white papers, and more. Additionally, the role includes crafting detailed manuals, user guides, and online help systems that support administrative and operational functions. To excel in this position, the ideal candidate must have exceptional written communication skills, be adept at using various technical writing tools, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Success in this role hinges on delivering accurate, high-quality documentation that caters to the diverse user groups within the DHMSM program. The chosen candidate should continuously update their knowledge of the latest documentation techniques and technologies in the industry.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain user-centric documentation and training materials
    • Collaborate extensively with IT-focused Support teams and Products team and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously
    • Enhance communication and stay updated with industry standards

    Detailed Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain user-centric documentation and training materials

    • Work with government counterparts to edit and co-write materials such as audit responses, executive presentations, and white papers
    • Create detailed manuals and user guides to explain complex applications and information systems for various end users
    • Ensure all documentation is easy to navigate and concise for both technical and non-technical personnel
    • Design targeted training content to enhance user comprehension and interaction with complex systems
    • Adapt training materials to suit various groups, ensuring engagement and effective learning

    Collaborate extensively with IT-focused Support teams and Products team and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously

    • Work closely with Support and Products teams to understand product specifications and operational procedures
    • Attend product development meetings to capture necessary details for documentation updates
    • Prioritize and manage documentation assignments to ensure timely completion
    • Maintain consistency in documentation style and format across all platforms

    Enhance communication and stay updated with industry standards

    • Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and stakeholders
    • Translate technical concepts into easily understandable language
    • Stay informed about the latest documentation techniques and tools
    • Implement innovative documentation solutions to increase user engagement

    BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3+ years of experience in technical writing
    • Prior DHA or government healthcare experience (preferred)
    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
    • Experience in an IT environment across the SDLC (preferred)
    • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • Common Access Card (CAC) preferred
