The Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA), is looking for an experienced, friendly and organized Receptionist to manage our front desk and perform various administrative tasks relating to Section 8 Program and Resident Selection.

As the first point of contact for our company, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive impression on visitors and callers.


Responsibilities:


  • Be the friendly face that greets guests and coworkers as soon as they arrive at the office.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, screen them, and direct them to the correct department.
  • Guide visitors to the appropriate person or office.
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
  • Perform secretarial duties for Program Coordinator and staff as required; prepare all correspondences, reports and annual packets.
  • Accept payments for outstanding accounts and maintain records of persons owing money to the Authority.
  • Compile statistics for determining rent reasonableness for the Section 8 Program.
  • Monitor and take the necessary steps to replace expended material and forms.
  • Maintain work room and office equipment.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and wellpresented.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as requested.

Position Education:


  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Position Qualifications:


  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
  • Understanding of PC terminal operations with a quantitative ability to coordinate own time.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of persons and unusual situations.
  • Prefer possession of a valid Pennsylvania drivers' license.
  • Work environment routine with periods of isolated high stress.
  • Well organized, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, courteous, tactful, possessing good judgment, able to work independently and with little supervision.

Pay:
Up to $16.00 per hour

Expected hours:
No more than 37.5 per week
