As a state-certified occupational therapist in Granby, you will help your clients regain a sense of independence through treatment, ultimately improving their quality of life.

This involves supporting them through activities and counseling to regain their ability to perform daily tasks in areas such as self-care, productivity, and leisure after an illness.

You will work with individuals of all ages.

The minimum requirement for this position is a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a three-year training program. As an occupational therapist, you will use a variety of treatment methods to address your clients' different limitations.

This may include activities such as:

  • Therapeutic work with children who have developmental delays
  • Treating individuals with mental health conditions
  • Adapting assistive devices (such as splints, walkers, and home modifications)
  • Identifying meaningful activities for older adults
As an occupational therapist, you will have many opportunities to work in various settings, including:

  • Rehabilitation clinics, hospitals, and health centers
  • Workshops for individuals with disabilities
  • Nursing homes and assisted living facilities
  • Occupational therapy practices (as an employee or selfemployed)
  • Facilities for individuals with mental and emotional disorders
  • Early intervention programs
  • Special education schools
