SUMMARY
Run and maintain pasteurizer and other related equipment within the Plant, with quality being the major concern.

Be able to effectively work in a team environment and communicate (verbal and written) with people on a professional level.

Contributes to overall department production goals, maintains a clean and safe work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Report all malfunctions on equipment and report all accidents
• Be aware of your surroundings at all times and work with safe behaviors
• Wear all required P.P.E. / Wash hands constantly / Change gloves
• 100% compliance to Good Manufacturing and SQF Practices and Procedures
• Closely monitor the dairy production process and follow Standard Operating Procedures for Batching and Processing Products.
• Accurately prepare & maintain related paperwork
• Monitor fats, total solids, allergen, cryoscope and other related items as they associate with processing dairy products.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
• Maintain sanitation of equipment including CIP/SIP & hand cleaning
• Reassemble equipment after CIP/SIP for safe and sterile use
• Do mandatory environmental cleaning during shift
• Ensure concentrations are taken with each CIP. Monitoring flow & temperature
• Perform sanitary PM's on valves, homogenizers, filters and other assigned equipment.
• Ensure environmental sanitation cleaning is complete on equipment
• Follow Quality Assurance standards and specifications
• Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing
• Effectively and proactively communicate in a timely manner when issues arise.
• Ability to multitask.
• Operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.
• Operate and clean equipment with a sense of urgency to maximize throughput and minimize downtime. Quality first.
• Maintenance and implement components of SQF System (Food Safety and Food Quality) as required.

• A team player assisting other operators for a safe, quality, and efficient process
• Understanding all procedures associated with this position and asks questions when needed.
• Wear and use a company provided radio to communicate operational and mechanical issues as they arise throughout your shift.
• Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and have the ability to work and maneuver in tight and awkward areas and positions.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma/GED
• Production Processing Experience preferably in Dairy.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other operators and management personel.
• Ability to read, analyze, and technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
