Fast-paced manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work in their assembly department.
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Lead and will be responsible for the following tasks:
Support an assigned area of the plant related to safety, quality, continuous improvement and troubleshootingIdentify and drive continuous improvement projects based on metrics related to scrap reductions and efficiency improvements, resulting in measurable cost savingsAssist technical support with equipment issues, with a "willing to get your hands dirty" mentalityPerform mechanical troubleshooting, including pneumatics, actuators, cameras, vision systems, leak testers, motors, gears, conveyors etc.
Support other areas of engineering, including industrial engineering, product engineering, launch engineering and quality engineeringSupport quality engineering with root cause analysis within the assigned area, including supplying information for 5WHY activityUpdate FMEA and work instructions as neededUtilize 2D and 3D modeling for creating tooling, fixtures and jigs to support productionComplete engineering documentation as neededOversee multiple (3-4) engineering projects at a timeOther duties as directed by management
Candidates should be able to communicate at all levels and be able to build rapport on the manufacturing floor.
The qualified individual will have drive, be able to work independently and within a team, enjoy floor presence (up to 50% of their day) and be flexible with changing priorities.

Manufacturing Engineer:1. Bachelor's degree in a technical field, mechanical related degrees are preferred2.
At least 1-5 years of work experience in similar manufacturing or process engineering roles; strong co-ops and/or internship experience will be considered3.
Experience supporting engineering functions in manufacturing environments that ideally include automation, robotics and/or PLCs4. Mechanical troubleshooting skills5. 2D and 3D modeling experience6. Formal problem solving; examples include 5WHY, fishbone diagrams, 8D, etc.7. Experience with continuous improvement, including implementing process improvements (scrap reductions, increasing efficiencies, etc.)8. Automotive supplier experience9. Microsoft OfficeSkills preferred but NOT required:1. Injection molding2. Assembly experience3. FANUC robotics4. Project management, including overseeing timelines5. The ability to troubleshoot PLCs
