Description
Perform a variety of Law Enforcement and Public Safety functions through teamwork and with the community of Gallatin County.The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office is seeking bilingual Spanish/English applicants.
Though not required to apply, preference will be given to applicants who have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
Applicants with this skill may be considered for additional pay through county incentive programs. Must meet minimum standards for the appointment and continued employment of public safety officers in the State of Montana in pursuant of Montana Administrative Rule (ARM as prescribed by the Montana Public Safety Officer Standards and Training Council.ARM :
. Must have a good driving record; Possess or able to possess a Montana driver's license; Good physical condition; Possess a Montana P.O.S.T. certification or be able to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire; High School Diploma or equivalent.

NOTE:
Employment is conditional on passing a written exam, physical fitness test, psychological exam, pre-employment physical and criminal background check.
Must successfully complete the Field Training Officer Program and obtain Montana P.O.S.T certification.Personal conduct and behavior on duty as well as off duty must be such that it does not bring discredit upon the Sheriff's Office or its members.
This position requires a high level of problem-solving ability, self-initiative and the ability and willingness to work a majority of the time without direct supervision.
Position may be located at any of the following offices; Bozeman, Big Sky, West Yellowstone, Three Forks. Possess a high school degree or equivalent. Additional incentives are available for higher education.About Gallatin County:

Some of the many benefits offered to full-time and part-time employees:Excellent Medical Health Benefits - Group health benefits, including dental and vision coverage, are available to eligible County employees. The medical health benefits premium is covered for full-time employees. The County contribution is pro-rated on hours paid for part-time employees. The employee pays the premium portion for dependent coverage. Family health benefits coverage is $205.00 per pay period.
Medical deductible is $400 for an individual and $1,000 for a family.
Paid Parental Leave (PPL)- In recognition of the importance of bonding and care of a newborn child or a child placed for adoption, Gallatin County provides 240 hours of PPL to eligible full-time employees.
Tuition Assistance- Because we value the professional and personal development of our employees, Gallatin County is proud to offer reimbursement of certain education expenses.
Testing and oral board dates are scheduled for June 3rd -5th, 2024.
All applicants must take or have completed Gallatin County Sheriff's written exam and fitness test; or may stand on their previous Gallatin County Sheriff's written scores if completed on or after January 2020 and their previous Gallatin County physical fitness test if completed within the last 90 days.
