Description

Port Dickinson is seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a Technical and Disciplinary Manager for our embedded software development team.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of software as part of a high-volume project. This includes employee development, from recruitment to promotion, to ensure a strong and capable team.

You will also be responsible for ensuring smooth and high-quality software development operations within international agile teams in our Aerospace division.

This will involve coordinating and further developing software development activities and resources within the specialist discipline.

Additionally, you will work closely with other teams, such as system, PLD/FPGA, HW, and tools, to develop and implement an efficient overall approval strategy.

You will also be responsible for continuously optimizing our software development tool landscape and participating in customer reviews and authority audits.

Other responsibilities include establishing and expanding development service providers, managing and monitoring suppliers, and collaborating in the strategic direction of the product area and planning research and technology programs.

Your qualifications for this role should include a degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field, as well as several years of experience in software development for embedded systems using modern techniques and test environments.

You should also have in-depth experience in software project management and preferably some experience in professional or disciplinary leadership. A strong passion for quality and the development of aviation products or other regulated software products (e.g. automotive, medical) is essential, as well as motivation to develop new processes in an agile environment.
