    We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to our mission by providing detailed cost analysis and financial insights.

    Position Details/Duties:
    Implement and maintain cost accounting systems and processes tailored to the healthcare industry's unique requirements.

    Analyze and report on costs including, but not limited to, patient care, supplies, equipment, and labor, identifying trends and areas for financial optimization.

    Work closely with various department leaders to collect and analyze data related to operations and patient care services, ensuring accurate cost allocation.

    Prepare detailed cost analyses and reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
    Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful data to aid in financial planning and decision-making.
    Collaborate with the finance team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting cost trends and efficiencies.
    Evaluate

    (provider/vendor/payer)

    contracts and agreements from a cost perspective, advising on financial implications and optimization strategies.
    Participate in continuous education to remain knowledgeable about healthcare accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
    Ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations and standards, participating in audits and preparing necessary documentation.

    Position Requirements:
    Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting methods, and financial reporting as they relate to healthcare.
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with all levels of management.
    Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
    Proactive and independent with a strong sense of accountability and a focus on delivering results.
    Knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and compliance requirements.


    Experience:
    At least 2-3 years of cost accounting experience, with a preference for candidates with healthcare industry experience.
    Proficiency in financial management systems common in healthcare (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and MS Excel.

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

    Physical:


    This position is classified as Light Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (66% of the time) to move objects.

    Physical Demand requirements are more than those for Sedentary Work.
