Public Health Technician
The Position
This position exists in the Schenectady County Public Health Services and involves the responsibility for carrying out various elements of prevention and control programs affecting public health.
Employees in this class are responsible for making inspections and carrying out specialized phases of the department's environmental health programs.
Employees in this class will be assisting Public Health Sani- tarians and Engineers in gathering information in determining compliance with local and State Sanitary Code requirements. General supervision is received from a higher level supervisor.
Qualifications
Possession of a Bachelor Degree awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recog
- nized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education including a minimum of fifteen (15) semester credit hours in the *natural sciences, of which not more than six (6) credit hours may be in **applied sciences; or
Possession of an Associate Degree awarded by a college accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S.
- perience in environmental health; hydrogeology; biology; chemistry; physics; or epidemiology.
Possession of a current valid New York State driver's license at the time of appointment and maintained throughout employment.
Salary $44,332
