General Position Summary:


Performs the day to day technical, clerical, and supportive functions required to ensure effective operation of the Human Resources Department.

Provides support for special projects and research as assigned.


Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates & facilitates hospital orientation.
  • Creates new hire packets
  • Sends out job descriptions for signatures for all new hires & transfers. Verifies licensing & certifications are up to date. Enters in UKG for tracking and uploads copies.
  • Completes onboarding for all new hires to include: license & certification verification, IT Securities, Healthstream, I9/E-Verify, RFID badge entry.
  • Manages and make updates on SUMM-IT Up administration (HR Page)
  • Sends out monthly regulatory rounds for HR Department.
  • Follows up with new hires for completion of hospital orientation evaluation.
  • Processes State of Arizona new hire report.
  • Assists with Benefit invoice reconciliation.
  • Updates legal postings on bulletin boards throughout Summit Healthcare and outlying clinics.
  • Provides information to employees about gym membership & gym orientations. Works closely with marketing on employee giving campaign.
  • Distributes mail within HR department.
  • Handles all incoming faxes, verification of employment, & ordering of supplies.
  • Assist in answering inquiries about open positions. Informs applicants of job openings and details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, career opportunities, and promotion opportunities.
  • May plan, organize and oversee company events.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Develops and executes specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish all duties.
  • Maintains current knowledge of HR guidelines, laws, policies, procedures, and common practices, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the SHINE behavior standards.

Secondary Functions:


  • May be required to travel occasionally and attend meetings outside of normal business hours.
  • Works in cooperation with other employees.
  • Conducts employment verifications.
  • Attends and participates in team and company meetings and provides updates as requested.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the HR Director that may not be included in this job description.
  • Participates in departmental and hospitalwide informational meetings and inservices, including staff meetings, hospitalwide forums, and seminars.
  • Reviews department and hospitalwide policies and procedures annually.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Interpersonal Contacts:


Contacts:

  • Are normally made with others both inside and outside the hospital.
  • Are usually made with other departments or locations.
  • Frequently contain confidential/sensitive information necessitating discretion at all times.
  • Are usually with nurses, physicians, and other staff.
  • Has both internal and external contacts. The most common internal contacts are with all staff and department leaders. The most frequent external contacts are with vendors and applicants for employment. Both types of interactions involve information exchange and problem solving.
  • Both types of contacts are as a result of regular, ongoing duties. Fifty (50%) of contacts are over the phone and fifty (50%) are face to face. At least 50% of all contacts are with internal customers or staff and leaders, while ten 50% are external customers, applicants and vendors.
